Q: What is the best way to prevent/treat bone disease when diagnosed with stage 3 kidney disease?

I have chronic pain that gets worse when I eat milk products. I was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease in 1988. In Nov. 2008 I was down graded to stage 3 chronic kidney disease. I was diagnosed with pre osteoporosis in 2007. I am premenopausal and taking .625 mg Premarin.

The amounts of calcium and Vitamin D you need when you have kidney disease can require quite a delicate balance.  Here is an excellent article on the subject which includes recommended foods:

Calcium and Chronic Kidney Disease

Once your doctor tests you and gives you the results of your calcium, phosphorus and PTH levels, you might want to consult a dietician to learn the best foods you can eat to keep the balance of nutrients you need.
