I've had Fibro for over 8 years and have found March/April and Oct/Novemebr are the worst months. Right now the flare up is so bad I feel like I'm walking with broken feet, can't hold a cup of coffee without excruiating pain, my hands, wrist, shoulders, neck, knees and feet hurt so bad. I just want something to make it stop so I can function. I haven't been taking the Cymbalta since I ran out, and being without insurance right now, it's really hard to figure out what to take. I have never had a flare up this bad, this painful, does Savella give relief immediately?? ANything else to take for this?????? Nothing that makes you gain weight, make you tired, I'm fighting that right now by not being able to do anything.
Q: Does Savella work immediately or does it take time to "kick in"?

I've had fibromyalgia for about a year now but I think it could be myofacial pain I've been taking lyrica 200mg tabs which make me tired I've gained a little weight and it has zero effect on my severe pains and it makes you feel like a robot on speed. As far as sevella goes I've also taken that and it only helps a little depending on how bad your pain is and it takes about a week to feel if any relief see, I personally don't think any of these anti depressant/anti-convulsant drugs do any thing for anybody and you still have the pain cause they think that it's in your mind as far as controlling the amounts of pain you can withstand the pain levels and it's not depression or all in your mind it's real and it's not being treated as such therapy dosen't help either especially in my case cause I've also tried that and they could'nt no matter what they did could'nt relax my muscles and muscle relaxers don't work they just make you tired so,there's no real help or medicine out there and you don't get the right tests,treatments, or medicine for the pain so you have to either just deal with it for what it is and the best medicines you can take I think is (nsaids) or over the counter or perscribed pain medications cause it's not in our heads,we're not depressed and anti-convulsants?give me a break we don't suffer from seizers.we're in pain!!!

AMEN! 35+ yrs now. I tried everything including the "new" ones, but after 2 days they were in the trash. Last week I was given a pack of Savella. They said we are geting great responses with FM patients. I told me doctor I will not take anymore anti-depressants. I stopped taking them years ago. I got home , looked up on the internet and guess what ... Another glorified version of Prosac. Should I try one or two? I am not depressed at all. I am in horrible pain and I don't want pain pills either!
Has anyone tried Savilla? What is your opinion?
