Q: I have had chronic pubic bone pain for 10 years. I have tried all the injections evry kind of med. Do you think I should try Prolotherapy?

I have some osteoporosis. I am a 65 year old female. Currently taking pain meds, ice and heat. I can't sit for more than 10 minutes without horrible pain in the pelvic area, mainly the pubic bone. Also one other condition, my ribs keep breaking with hardly no injury. I was cleaning the bathtub and had my ribcage on the edge when I reached out I heard two pops and broke 2 ribs just last month. 2 years ago while pulling a box accross the floor I broke 3. I have been to every Doctor you can imagine with no help. Please help me. I mainly have to lay down all day.

Hi Igarly,

Wow. That sounds so frustrating and painful.

I. too. have severe osteoporosis. I remember the last time I heard that pop that you talk about. It has been awhile, but I am so careful because I feel so breakable.

Of course I could not say you should try prolotherapy. I say rely on the doctors you trust. That would include your personal doctor and whoever plans to do your prolotherapy surgery.

Do you know if you are an eligible candidate? How well do you normally heal? I am a slow healer, so I just know it would take ten treatments. This is quite a commitment, but I understand because of your pain. Maybe you could consult with a pain management doctor first.

I don't know what to tell you except that this is not a decision to be made lightly. This therapy says it helps so many conditions. Have you talked with anyone who has gone through these treatments with successful results?

Please let us know your decision Good luck.
