A new development, calcium in blood too high, can someone inform me more?
As I have said I am creating kidney stones repetitively. Monday, my urologist told me the calcium in my blood was too high and is testing me for parathyroid problems. I did some research and know pretty well what this is about. If anyone out there has had this problem and can give me some advice on what to expect, and why it is referred to as "moans, groans, bones, stones, and some pshcotic overtones," although I have a vague idea, please update me. They are running more tests at present and I have checked it out online, but would like to hear from someone who has actually encountered this diagnosis, if indeed it proves to be my problem. I know the calcium is drawn away from the bones and spills over into the blood damaging other organs, and leaving calcium in kidneys, and that it attacks the nervous system. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks and God bless!
I had this condition 2 years ago. My doctor had been monitoring my blood calcium levels for several years. I learned later that this should never be ignored. I began experiencing mini strokes. Surgery to remove my parathyroid was done by outpatient surgery. No complications, small scar. I had this condition for a long time and had actually forgotten what it felt like not to hurt all over, even my fingers and toes, and not to have psychotic feelings. I encourage you to have the surgery a.s.a.p. I had no signs of malignancy. Good Luck.

Hi Annie,
I suffer from chronic pain, at least I know why, but I guess you don't. Well, this might not be very good news, but get checked out for Scleraderma. It cause lupus like symptoms, and your body starts to break down your calcium or bones and then it gets thrown around in your body in the wrong places. Look it up on the internet and then go ask your doctor to test you for it. My girlfriend has it, let me know what happens, mollyfrost@telus.net
Thanks
Molly
