well like I had back surgery several years ago, slip disc. I went back to work in 5 weeks and all was great.
I work in a nursing home now lifting and bending over all day long, I noticed a few months ago my back an my legs were hurting so bad that I did good to get home, burning in the back of my leg to my cafe.
I was lifting one of my Patients to the bath room and all of a sudden I had a stabbing pain in the back of my rib cage.
went to the E.R from work states sprain muscle and spasms and acute degenerative L-3-4-5 Dr. stated to stay off for 4 days, the excuse he gave me was no lifting or bending over for one week, so my work could not put me back to work with that kind of excuse. I went to the referred physician and now I'm off for 2 Weeks until he gets a MRI also no lifting or bending over.
My employer states this problem has been a long time back problem, I probably need to seek other work, they are up set of me being off work and on comp.
I just fell so bad that after 7 years they don't care how you fell.

sorry to hear about your problem, my daughter is about 100Lbs and she had to lift and pull heavy things all day well she injured herself on the job and instead of them saying that they are sorry they tried to statet that she may have done this at home. she went on worker's comp for about 2 weeks and then told her boss she couldnt lift more then 5Lbs, Well the boss insted of asking how she felt hired a new person and docked my daughter's hrs from 30 a week to 5 if that, she couldnt fire her because that wouldnt be right so she made her job misserable. The new girl never had to lift a box of clothing or anything else I know how it must feel I am soo soo sorry that your treated that way it is a shame. hang in there untill you find something better good luck
