According to the National Stroke Association (NSA), recovery from stroke is a lifelong process. How much recovery is possible and how long it may take depends on how severely the brain was damaged and in what part of the brain the stroke occurred.

The NSA has an excellent Web site that should help you learn a lot about strokes and the recovery process.  They also offer a Stroke Recovery Guide that can be downloaded for free.  Here is a link to their site:  National Stroke Association – Recovery
