Q: I had two surgeries because I had so much pain when laying down. Now, i have constant pain, plus the pain when laying down. Does anyone know of any reason why I should have pain when laying down

I was told that i needed a laminectomuy, had two of them, went to pain clinics in Seattle and Phoenix, to no avail. they burned nerves, facet, and Si. and all it did was give more pain. I can't walk, the pain doesn't come when I am walking but afterward. Themore I walk, the worse the pain.

Ouch, what bum luck. Pain while laying down is usually related to posture. Sleep posture is greatly influenced by the surface you are laying on like your bed. Personally, my back pain at night has reduced substantially since using the new Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme... it is like sleeping on cloud 10.

Other times, especially when it comes to leg pain or Sciatic pain, the nerves might be more irritable on account that the blood pressure (perfusion pressure) is slightly lower while sleeping. Not much you can do about that except make sure that you do not smoke and get as much exercise as possible to improve circulation.

If your pain is also worse while walking, that probably means that your most comfortable position to lay in is the fetal position with your knees drawn towards your chest.

I hope this information can help you find some comfort.
