Yes, I have lookied everywhere and yesterday I did find a physician who was willing to take new patients but when he read the discharge letter from my ld doc, he refused! The letter states that I didn't trust his 'treatment plan and fllow up', but I don't even know what he is talking about nor did his office manager. The new do tole me it was a "red flag". When I spoke to my professor from the university I am attending to tell her I wouldn't be able to cntinue classes, [and I told her all about the reasons, which I have posted here], she said that what he has done borders on malractice. The main reason I was discharged was because of one of his mid-levels who told me at one point that I was "essentially" a drug addict and another time told me I wasn't taking my medicine because one of them didn't show up in my urine, but codeine did. I told him I would think that codeine would have come from the oxycontin. Be that as it may it was always something with this new PA. Befre he came I had seen this same doc for almost 5 years with no problems. So today is the first day I do not have my ADD meds, [Dexedrine], and I am rationing my oxycontin to try and make them last until the letter can be clarified for the new doc and if that doesn't happen then I suppose I will have o go through withdrawal from the oxycontin. It is really scary since I have never taken street drugs, I don't even drink and I have been on the same meds since my neurologist in Florida put me on them. The pain is real and the ADD certainly is, but in Vermont it seems that even the pain clinics do not want to give meds. So, I guess I just have to wait and see what happens. It is apparent that when he gave me the discharge letter that he knew I wouldn't be able to find a new physician and he just sent me out to make it on my own regardless of the complications. I have no idea what I am to do now. I am not on super high doeses of anything and I only take what is absolutely necessary to get me out of bed and if I can take less I do, but I h ave never taken more than the amount it takes to take off the edge. It is amazing to me that anyone whoo is supposed to "do no harm" didn't take in to consideration how I would withdraw from drugs that he has been prescribing for me for years!
