Q: Can Taking Synthroid Cause stomach ulcers

I have stomach ulcers, i'm not bothered by them too often but it seems like here lately they the problem has flared!! I watch my diet and excersize so i can't understand where the pain is coming from. The only thing that is new to my diet is about 3 weeks ago i started taking SYNTHROID daily. And the pain started about two and a half weeks ago...

Since several of the common side effects of Synthroid are related to the digestive system (i.e., diarrhea, abdominal cramps, nausea), it seems logical to think it could aggrivate stomach ulcers.  I'd suggest asking your pharmacist or doctor to be sure, though.
