Q: My friend had a colonoscopy and was in alot of pain. The MD said it was due to her taking vicodin mixing with the valium he gave her negated any analgesic effect.Have you ever heard of this happening?

Ambulatory patients should be counseled to avoid hazardous activities requiring mental alertness and motor coordination until they know how these agents affect them, and to notify their physician if they experience excessive or prolonged CNS effects that interfere with their normal activities.
