Do physical symptoms relate to Diabetes 2?

I have knee pain in my knees. I use the stairs alot where I live. I also have Diabetes 2. I don't recall if I twisted my knees while I was walking up the stairs, or if it is an old injury. I have fallen alot in my younger life because of seizures, and accidents.
