Saturday, November 26, 2011 caroll Arevalo asks

Q: I just had a discectomy and fusion three months ago. This happened on sunday. Should I go back to the hospital they have x-rayed and scanned me already.?????

I have chronic pain, but was in a rollover accident sunday. I am experiencing quite a bit of pain. I developed a cough immediately after the accident. my middle back and ribs hurt even in the solar plex area. I have neck and jaw pain with pain in my ears that come and go. I also have a sore throat just like after surgery. should I go back to the hosp since my Dr is on vacation. why would I develope this cough after it

Three months after a spinal fusion that area should have strengthened significantly buy it won't be fully healed for at least another 3 or 4 more months. Even then you'll have to be careful with your back. I am not a doctor but after an accident like this and with the pain that you're describing my guess is that you should be re-evaluated which will likely include getting new scans done to see if it has effected your fusion.
