Q: Lasix& methadone mixed

You did not say why Lasix and Methadone together could cause a problem?

They can cause low blood pressure, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting and rapid heart beats. They can be used together but you have to be careful when you start off on them and if you need to increase your dosage.

I take 180 mg of lasix a day and was on 40mg of methadone a day. It never caused me any problems if you are experancing problems I suggest you see a doctor you may be alergic to one or both medications mixed. Everyones body is different some people get sick from common polin and some perple get sick from bee stings see a doctor. Have a nice day may god bles you.

At the risk of sounding like an idiot I'm gonna take a shot at this one which will also include a question.

Methadone, as well as any medication, is supposed the have a certain blood(fluid) to med ratio. Do the kidneys and liver increase output of the med when the amount of fluid being eliminated increases, as with lasix? If not, then is it possible that you have a higher methadone to blood ratio?

I do know, for a fact proven by my own experience if not by the scientific world, that in the past when I was taking lasix and seeing a pain management specialist who regularly tested urine levels of meds. to make sure I was taking them as presribed, I frequently tested low med levels even though I WAS taking them as ordered. The doctor did not believe me, he thought I was hoarding or selling them. The exact same thing happened to someone else I know.

So if you are having increased side-effects of methadone, could this be the reason?
