The number on the pill identifies what kind of drug it is, its strength (formulation) and the manufacturer. The m 357 on your pill indicates it contains 5mg hydrocodone, 500 mgs. acetaminophen and is made by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals.

Hi Joe,

The M357 on your Hydrocodone pills is an identifying number, which tells pharmacists and key personel in pharmacies, the manufacturer and strength of your medication. It is just another safeguard to make sure you recieved the right medication.

I used to be a Master pharmacy tech.

Hope this answers your question to your satisfaction.
