I was looking for some input on drug testing because I am submitting myself for random drug/alchohol testing to confirm my claim that I am clean, and will continue to be. This will help me in my custody battle w/ my ex husband. My concern was no joke, and neither was your answer. Thanks again!

i have been through two very painful back surgeries one of which stopped the blood flow to my left leg and now have very painful femoral nerve neuropathy i have been on lortab and percocet for over 2 yrs . i test positive for the lortabs but negative on the percocet, my doctor told me some people produce certain enzymes that prevent them from testing positive for certain opiates like percocet. has anyone ever heard of this? thank god my dr dont believe im selling them or id be in big trouble. she believes me and i have even taken percocet in her presence and waited 3 hrs to do a urine test and still test negative for percocet. can anyone explain this to me?

I was in a bad relationship and my boyfriend took 3 of my perscriptions and filled them at the same time.  Now im screwed up with my doctor i think.  Does anyone think that if im honest and tell her that I was scared to turn him in and that i will show her that i dont abuse any of my medication, that she will prescribe me my meds.  I fell off a cliff and broke my phemor and hip and really do need my medication.  I am out of that relationship and he's in jail. What do i do? what do i say to her?

A legitimate doctor will not penalize you for other peoples actions. Even though many people use and become addicted to oxycotine many doctors still prescribe it and if your going to put the shame on anyone put it on the court system itself. It condems normal people for using street drugs such as weed but any person with money can be hopped up on "prescription drugs" and get off with a slap on the wrist even though chemicly its all pretty much the same thing. If i were to happen to get caught with a gram of coke i'd be prossessed and sent to jail but if any celebrity pops riddlin like m and m's then there just miss using there prescribed drugs even though we have the same objective in mind.

THEN YOU HOPED FOR THEM TO GET CAUGHT, WOW THAT WAS A REAL STRETCH, CAN YOU IMAGINE SOMEONE WHO NEEDS THOSE MEDS, GOING TO JAIL AND HAVING TO GO THROUGH WITHDRAWS? some people are in pain and dont have insurance shame on you it is people like u who make it harder for people to get the help they need i have a tooth ache and i am in aganising pain im going to take 1 percocet tonight that i got off my landlord so i can get one good nights rest and goto the emergency room in the morning becuase i dont have insurance yet taxes come out of my paycheck for people like you to get help you probably are a welfare pig ssi recieving bum and someone like me who works everyday of there life cant get insurance or the help that i need and if they would do a random test at work and they found this perocet in my system from the day before they would fire me cause i dont have a prescription because i wont or couldnt afford it cause i pay for yours with my tax money go kiss obamas ass your response was assinine i bet u walk around with a broom stuck up in ur bum pull it out aleast an inch u welfare bum

Wow! I just spent the last 10 or 15 minutes reading the responses to this poor guys question about percocet in your system and I can't believe some of these answers.  I truly believe that people are always entitled to their personal opinions - who's to argue another's feelings? That's just plain silly, not to mention a losing battle.  The opinion belongs to someone else, you're not obligated to adopt it or take it home with you for crying out loud! Most of the comments (or at least some) have sound reasoning . . . that is IF you happen to be the person commenting.  Personally, I would just like to (for a change) browse through one of these many thousands of information forums  on the web and find responses relevant to the information being sought. I certainly don't speak for anyone but myself, but it seems to me that if a person is asking a factual question, they're propbably looking for a factual answer. And when they're looking for feedback or another opinion on a subject the curious body would ask for such information. . . wouldn't they? My feeling (if you want to adopt it its yours for the taking) is that if you have an opinion or feel the need to rage on certain groups or topics, please by all means do!  Excercise your freedom of individuality, of personal thought and of just being you.  But please, find an appropriate arena to do it in.  Start a blog, rent a hall, find a rant site (I think CraigsList has one) and just go off on all of the ######## and idiots, real or imagined that make your world a living hell! Wouldn't you feel like you've accomplished so much more by addressing an audience that wants to hear what you have to say and not put you down for saying it? An audience that is there to support you not boo you off the stage? And for those of you who come to these information forums, wouldn't it be nice to know that a piece of knowledge that you somehow happened to pick up along the way was helpful to someone because it was found without them having to wade through pages and pages of people's feelings on the subject.  And for all of us that really just want to know the answer to a question for whatever the reason . . . can you imagine being able to just ask the damn question (without half of the universe suddenly thinking that they know your entire life story) and  getting an answer that solved your delema, satisfied your curosity or maybe won you a silly bet?  Now, if only we didn't have to pay for it . . .Oops! that's just crazy talk.

Gee people, if you have a question ask it and if someone has an answer then please answer.  Every one of us has an opinion but this and many sites are not for personal (judging) opinions they are to get factual answers.  Druggies or not everyone has questions and would like answers.  Pain stinks.  Legally dulled is the best way I would presume but (my opinion) hey I included have been on the crappy side of pain and the legal alternatives were not working for me when my insurance ended from a very expensive (COBRA) payment.  I'm a widow and on survivor benefits in SSI and not a bum and have done all I can to pay the COBRA premiums to cover my many medical issues, but COBRA does end.  Insurance is pricey, doctor appts are pricey, it's all about the money pretty much, I am not eldgible for free medical from the state but I am burried in bills too!  I am just saying there are sides to all stories and many more to mine and I listed only a couple.  I am a good decent person.  I have pain.  I know desperation too.  I know just dealing with pain and doing nothing for it as well, even if it meant being in undscribable pain that made me almost lose my entire mind!  We deal with things as they come our way.  We deal with them in our own way.  Consequences are for every single one of us that have them coming.  I don't even make comments on things and came on here for a simple answer and here I am typing away like a idiot!  Um thanks, I think? I'm sorry but I just wanted to say that the only reason it is so hard to get a prescription for it and it is such a process is because it is a narcotic and is very easy to get addicted too.  It's not because people abuse it its because it is so addicting.  I am on percocet because I just had 2 surgeries and am about to go through a 3rd one.  I wanted to see how long it stayed in your system because my body is starting to get addicted too it.  I am glad that this person asked this question because it helps people who do have to take the drug.

probably not because the courts tests are much more accurate then a home testing kit
