what can i do when i only get 2hrs of sleep a night from the sever pain im in ?
I take oxycodone 30 mg , dilaudid 4mg, valium 10 mg, percocet 10/325 i feel like a walking pharmacy,. i have 5 ruptured discs, spinal stenosis,. degeneritive disc diseas,.and much more the spine doctor looked at my mri and told me that my discs are black when normal ones are white looking that has me concerned. i seem to be in pain 24/7 and when i go to sleep if i get lucky enough i get woke up with a feeling of being shot in the leg or sever burning in my arms. my pain is not new to me but it is getting worse as i get older im 40yrs old and been in pain since 1989 when i was rear ended by a drunk driver.. maybe some one can relate. I'm so glad i found this site it really helps me to read others posts and i can relate to there pain, one thing i need to add i know were all in pain but know this ,there are others out here to help one another and who understans what were going through GOD bless you all and i hope you have less pain in days to come.
thank you ,,, Rob in Delaware.
I can really relate to that.I am taking similar meds that you are on.You have one that is stronger than mine. But I have severe sleep apnea. And I have tried the machine with 3 different mask. How in the heck do these people think we can have a mask tied so tight it leaves indentions in your face for hours after you wake up.And since I have chronic sinusitis and 28 oral surgeries. Also have 3 cervial herniated disk with bone spurs. The mask just amplifies those other pains. So I tried it as long as I could but,I am sorry .I just threw it on the floor one night and never put it on again.I dont know why they cant just make one like the oxygen.Where just 2 little holes go into your nose. And then around your ears. Not around your neck and so tight. There always seems that the help for one pain only increases or aggravates the other ones. I was also recently told I needed surgery from a neurosurgeon. He also said that I would have to continue to have surgeries. But after the surgery he was going to take my pain meds away.Well being as I am 57 now,I have learned how to say no.It is not the doctor who has to live in it.He forgets the 15 minutes he spent with you by the end of the day.Why cant they understand that all we want is justice. All we want is to be treated with respect and not some drug addict. For heavens sake I never even smoked pot when I was a teen.I never did any of those things the others were. They did acid and LSD,etc...They seem to be the ones that call me a drug addict. They have real short memories.Sorry its my vent day.Hope you feel better with all my heart.......Jo

Sleeping with chronic pain is a real problem. I have low back and left leg pain along with nerve damage. I've had numerous surgeries. One thing that has helped me sleep a little better is pillows. I have different sizes and shapes. The one that helps the most is the one I put between my knees. It helps take a little of the pressure off. I've tried sleeping pills in the past, but they only helped for a short time. Besides, I'm already on enough meds. Good luck
