To tell you the truth, many gadgets on the market can be substituted with cheaper solutions. This particular device is manually mobilizing the lower lumbar spine at the same time providing some unloading traction. How can you do this at home with simple household items? Yes, it can be done.

Notice how people using this device are belly-up (supine) with the hips and knees both flexed at 90 degrees; well you can achieve this position lying belly-down (prone) on your bed with the knee dangling to the floor. Wiggle you hips and let gravity do the rest (traction and manual mobilization). This technique also works well on tailgates of trucks for the guys at worksites. Now that is pain relief at the right price.

A well trained physical therapist can save you money by teaching you techniques like prone tractioning on a bed. Gimmicks cannot replace a good rehabilitation program. Just like teaching someone to "fish" and she/he can "feed" themselves for a lifetime; teach someone good self-management tools and he/she can enjoy a more comfortable life.

So glad you replied. Hubby is my stretching devices these days I do ask him to pull my legs when on the floor ,it feels so good. I though I could spare him back problem having such a device, I was not completly sold to it. I love gadgets but for my sewing room , the net is full of this and that the worst are the magic cures, you know "I Cured my fibro, my migraines, my sweating"etc.... I know that there is always a way to do without.....  My favorite stretch  is holding the hand rail on  my balcony and pull to strech as I was told by my physio, the neighbors always wonder what I do there , or I have 2  fixed drawers pulls in my kitchen, very solid false drawers over  the under sink doors, it helps me to get up  if I bend to find something under the sink. Do you have other ways of strectching ?

The other day a friend sent me this : http://www.cureforfibromyalgia.com/index_en.htm

I would like your input too on that one. To tell you frankly I am starting to buck when people send me this stuff. What if it is the right one ? I am like any chronic painer, I want to get out of it  .

My problem,I have to many friends who love me for sure but since I am plagued with chronic pain try to find the magic cure for me.

I tried it. Did not really like it. thought it cost a lot of money. If I had extra money I may have kept it.
