I had the asian flue in 58 and was very sick I stayed with pain in my back but not chronic then, maybe once evry 2 years untill I had my first baby, had all the pain in my back , It became chronic only 15 years ago.
I read something once about fibromyalgia and some connection to influenza or any viral infection. Do you something about that ? Could you do a poll asking people if they had viral infection or influenza like the Asian one in 58 or Honkong in the end of the 60's.? It would be interrestiong to see the replies.

Thanks for your reply. Yes it would be interresting to know what people think triggered their fibro. I am not sure for mine. I know that I had this weak back most of my life, then the pain scattered like ripples caused by a stone in the pond. But I think too that my mom had it because I am going through exactly what she went by from her 50's to her 80's a long time to be in pain and not knowing what it was. I remember telling her to do a bit more exercices and her telling me that I did not understand her pain, in fact I did not then, but now.... My son told me the same and I told him to be careful because I thought by then that there was a kind of genetic component and today at 40 he has back pain that look so much like the beginning of my mom's pain and mine. I just wish I am wrong. I was dxg'ed 5 years ago not wanting to believed it was it but the rheumy was right. I was afraid of the name itself because of too many ple and drs calling it false and made up thing.
