I Have post chemotherapy neuropathy, took "LYRICA" with no improvement

I am a multiple myeloma patient , 51 years old.My oncologist prescribed me "VELCADE" Injection in a wrong manner "infusion" and in a very high dose , serious complications happened and after release from ICU Iam suffering from prephiral neuropathy ,severe pain like hot charcoal and numbness in my hands and feet and gait disturbances , took  LYRICA  150mg/day with no improvement  is there any other medication I should take?

There are different kinds and causes of peripheral neuropathy and your doctor will have to determine which drugs are right for you but Lyrica is certainly not the only drug prescribed for this condition.

 

Anti-seizure drugs (of which Lyrica is one)  interestingly enough have proven effective in fighting this pain for some people. Other drugs in this class include Neurontin, Tegretol and Dilantin. Tricyclic anti-depressants are another type of drug that was originally developed for another use but which is also helpful with pain. There are other drugs as well but these two types seem to be the most the prominently used.
