is methadone HCL 10MG tab A MEDICEN USE TO TREAT fibromyalgia?
my life have been stop because of this ,i was a hard worker but now i cant lift my daughter or play with the kids an this is killing my sex life ,i am to depress to go on typing without crying. i need and answer to my question please.
I can't say methadone is never used to treat fibromyalgia, but it's not one of the most common medications prescribed. Doctors usually start by trying one of the three medications that have received FDA approval for treating FM: Lyrica, Cymbalta or Savella. If those don't help, they may try other medications instead of or in addition to them. Tramadol is a pain reliever often used for FM. Usually opioids are tried if nothing else has worked. Every patient is different and unfortunately it's usually a matter of trial and error to find what works best for you. Here is an article that gives all the different medications that may be tried for fibromyalgia: Medications Prescribed for Fibromyalgia
From both a professional standpoint and personal experience, I can tell you that it usually takes a combination of things to get fibromyalgia under control. Medication is certainly part of it, but most people find that complementary therapies, gentle exercise and lifestyle adaptations are also very important parts of feeling and functioning better. The two complementary therapies that have helped me a great deal are Myofascial Release Therapy and Acupuncture. (Click on the links to read more about them.)
I hope you're able to find the right combination of medication and therapies to help you feel better soon.

Methadone isn't in the "meth" family, methamphetamine is a stimulant and methadone is and opioid used to treat cronic pain and addiction.
I'm glad that you've lost weight and are off the medications! It's awesome that you can find some relief!
