I too have had this problem. I went to a podiatrist about it. Come to find out, it was Osteoarthritis also in my foot. I was given two option, an ankle fusion, which would put pressure on the knee, or an orthodic shoe insert. I went with the insert. It helped tremendously. No more top of the foot pain. I also invested in a pair of New Balance sneakers, didn't use the insert, and have had no foot pain since. Hth Deborah
