Tapentadol is prescribed for moderate to severe pain and has a potency somewhere between tramadol and morphine. Its similar in structure to tramadol. Because it has the ability to hit more pain receptors than other drugs its believed to be able to produce the same pain relief at a lower dose and thus with fewer side effects than some of the tradition pain relievers. Its the first new drug of its kind to be produced in 25 years. It just became available last year.

Thanks Cort. With the lack of success with Cymbalta maybe this will be for me! It isn't available yet here in Australia but seeing it has been approved in America it probably won't be long. Has anyone who belongs to pain connection  had success with this drug?
