Yes it is. Lyrica or pregabalin is FDA approved to treat a nerve pain associated with diabetes and shingles and is the first drug approved to treat Fibromyalgia. Multiple studies now indicate it is beneficial in treating fibromyalgia. Anecdotal reports indicate it is very effective for some people with fibromyalgia and not for others.   As with any drug though its effectiveness will vary from person to person. Many people with chronic pain need to try several drugs or combinations of drugs before they find something suitable. Like many prescription drugs Lyrica can have side effects such as weight gain, nausea, swollen arms and legs etc. Not everybody experiences side effects and for those who do the benefits often outweigh what side effects may occur.   You can find out more about Lyrica here.   http://www.healthcentral.com/chronic-pain/find-drug-68371-73.html
