It sounds like I may have TMJ....after the last 2 visits at my Dentist I delveloped canker sores the

second time pretty severe.  One day during that time all of a sudden I had terrible pain in my upper jaw and it has been sensitive since.  My question is....was it possible that during the cleanings if my mouth was stretched too far could this cause TMJ?  As far a the sores (which have cleared and I will be changing Dentist before my next appt.) they have gone and not been back, (but the pain still remains)

I have had a similar experience, and the sores turned out to be shingles. you may want to ask about that. When my jaw is sore, I take muscle relaxers and try to "rest" my jaw for a few days. Good luck! rpgirl60
