Question
Patricia
07/24/08

I'm a female, age 65. About 4 in the a.m. I jumped out of bed because of a sharp pain on the left

rib cage, and it felt like a bee sting.  There was a series of the needle-like sensations, extremely painful, and it's been an off-&-on thing throughout the day.  My first reaction to each stab of the pain is to grab hold of my flesh at the site, and squeeze.  Can you give me a clue about what might be happening, or under what medical category would I be able to search for information?  I await your reply & Thank you.!
