I HAD BEEN TAKING CARBAMEZAPINE OR TEGRETOL FOR 5 YEARS.  AFTER TAKING THIS MED FOR 6 MONTHS, MY BACK WENT OUT.  SINCE 2004, I HAVE HAD CONSTANT PAIN AND DISCOMFORT IN MY RIGHT LEG, HIP, BUTTOCK, AND LOWER BACK.  I RECENTLY SAW A NEUROLOGIST TO TRY TO SWITCH THE MED BECAUSE OF THE CONSTANT PAIN, TO SEE IF IT WAS AT ALL CAUSING IT.  ABOUT 1-2 WEEKS AFTER I WAS OFF THE TEGRETOL, THE PAIN SUBSIDED TO THE POINT I WAS SINGING HALELLUHA!  I KNOW THE PAIN WILL NOT GO COMPLETELY AWAY BECAUSE OF THE ANEURYSM RUPTURING AND HEMORRHAGING INTO MY BRAIN.  BUT, IT IS BETTER SINCE I AM ON OXACARBAMEZAPINE INSTEAD OF THE TEGRETOL.  UNFORTUNATELY, I WILL NEED TO GET OFF THIS MED, TOO.  TOO MANY OTHER SIDE EFFECTS.
