Q: Oxycodone Shortage

What is the latest on Oxycodone Shortage? I've heard all sorts of stories including it will never the light of day again to maybe next week.........I wonder what people, that normally use it for BT pain, are subsituting it with? My Doctor will offer Dilaudid, but that doesn't offer much pain relief and the side effects are rough. Percocet had too much acetaminphen. Is there a form of Vicodan made w/o Tylenol, Asprin, Motrin? I do plan on discusing this with my doctor, in the mean time just curious. Thanks!

I'm not sure what the status of the shortage is now. Have you tried to find liquid oxycodone though? It sounds like its easier to get. Check out the story below of someone who was able to get it.

I'm not sure where things stand with the oxycodone shortage either.  I haven't heard anything new on it.  To answer your Vicodin question – As you probably know, Vicodin is hydrocodone and acetaminophen.  Unfortunately hydrocodone is not available by itself.  It always has either acetaminophen or ibuprofen with it.  A couple of other opioid options you could ask your doctor about are morphine or oxymorphone.
