Q: Pain and tightness in the back and hips

I was an avid triathlete, mountain biker, road biker, runner, up until about 8 months ago when I woke up one day with tightness in my low back and QL.  I continued to workout despite the ever-increasing pain and eventually had to stop because eventually I could not do anything without being in pain.  The pain has increased to the point where I feel a heaviness and dull ache in my hips and low back when I sit, stand, walk or do anything for longer than 10 minutes. I have incredibly tight muscles, especially the psoas, but pretty much any muscle that I stretch or body roll on is tight.  I have had to quit my job as a Fitness Coordinator because I can hardly walk at this point and standing for 1 hour teaching a class puts me in so much pain in my hips, back and feet, that I have to lie down immediatley to feel better. Stretching also helps, as well as massage and physical therpay.  I have had an MRI, which showed very mild tendinitis in the glut med and bursitis in the greater trochanter on both sides; as well as moderate arthropathy in the L4-L5.  I have been to Physical Therapy, Chiropractor, Acupunture, Massage Therapy, Rheumatologist, Orthopedic Surgeon, my regular MD, Spine Rehab Doctor, -- and no one seems to be able to tell me what is going on. All blood tests have come back normal and have ruled out any muscle disease or autoimmune diseases.   The last person I saw was the Rheumatologist and she believes this is overuse syndrome, and that if I continue to stretch and massage I should get better.  I thought I was getting better after taking 2 weeks off and seeing the physical therapist and getting corticosteroid shots in the trochanter on both right and left. I went back to work part-time and the standing for 1 or 2 hours put me in so much pain I am not sure if this really will ever go away.  For cardio all I do right now are short 10-15 minute walks once or twice a day.  I have a history of tight muscles and have excessive lordosis and slight scoliosis.  I also have very high arches, and am wearing Lynco orthotics that I bought at the Walking Shoe Store. I do not feel this pain in my upper body region.  Is is possible that I have tendinitis in my entire lower body?  I am stuck on what to do next!  Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.
