Does anyone know of any Doctors who installs pain pumps in Columbus Ohio?
I only have 2 options left to deal with my back problems. A spin stimulator or pain pump. I've checked on stimulators, now I need to check out pain pumps.

Look at this site on Intrathecal Pump.Hope it helps..
what is your thoughts on the stimulator?
I like the idea of the pain pump because it takes less medicene it goes right into the spine and radiates out quickly..You have to go into the hospital for a trial then decide the next step for actual implanting the device..best of luck to you..

Hi Sandra,
I am going for the last of injectons on 11/2 then my Ortho and Spine Dr. want to try the Spinal Cord Stim for a week to see how I do with that, but I am wanting to learn more about the pain pump. I have read all of the literature and will be set up to take the psycholigical test to see if I am a Candadate for the SCS. I asked my Ortho about the Pain Pump and he was against it, and wants me to have the SCS, but I really think I may want to try the pain pump.
So, I am in the same situation as you are, and I would be interested to see what you learn about the Pain Pump. I have heard good and bad things about both of these.

One thing you need to keep in mind, Doctors don't want to put people on heavy medication. I know a thing or two about ortho-nuro. They don't like to do surgery much less put someone on heavy drugs. In order to get accurate information you must go to a pain pump doctor. But remember both sides have an opinion and will try to get you to things their way. Investigate both sides and you!!!!! decide what is best for you. I made the mistake of letting other people make up my mind and 4 years latter I'm still in bad pain.

You are absolutely right. The pump was what my Orthopedic doesn't want me to get. Instead he wants to have my Spine Dr at the Pain & Spine Center do the test trial for the SCS then see if it works and put that in instead of the pain pump.My Orthopedic wants him to put in the SCS. My Pain & SPine Dr. does do the Pumps and the SCS but I haven't approached him yet about the question of getting the pain pump. Right now I am on so many different meds, I feel that if it can help me, and I can cut down on these meds that would be so rewarding to me.
I hope this makes sense to you :)

when I investigate both sides I will let you know what is my best solution for my back pain.
