Fibromyalgia is something only your doctor can diagnose. There is a diagnostic test for it based on whether a certain number of point on your body are sensitive to a certain pressure but FM also requires excluding other diseases that could mimic it. Unfortunately there are no laboratory tests for it. Fatigue, pain and poor sleep are common in FM as is hypersensitivity to touch, sounds, odors, etc.
Getting a good diagnosis and the right treatment requires seeing a doctor who is knowledgeable about the disorder.
Luckily Health Central has an excellent FM section that was put together by Karen Richards the co-founder of the largest Fibroymalgia support group in the nation - National Fibromyalgia Association. She is Health Centrals expert guide on this subject. The section should help and she should be able to help you.
The FM section is below - good luck!
