What pain medications are best used for GBS

My daughter has GBS and has been on several different medications which have not really helped. She has gone to a Pain Management dr. who is now prescribing Lyrica of which the side effects are enormous and she is fearfull of even starting this medication. The only refief she has gotten is the Fentenol patch which this dr. wants to stop.
