Will a pain pump possibly help my neuropathy--SCS trial is not working for me

I have idiopathic neuropathy in both feet. I had one Achilles tendon replaced, one repaired and now severe nerve entrapment in one foot. I also have degenerative discs and spinal stenosis.  I am in the middle of a trial for a spinal cord stimulator and it is NOT working for me. I feel like my entire body is burning like fire. I am continuing to take Lyrica and Hydrocodone but still at level 10. I am to see my pain management doctor tomorrow.  Just found this site tonight.  Started thinking about a pain pump.  What are advantages and disadvantages? Can I have trial for pain pump right after having SCS trial? I am on schedule for permanent implant in 2 weeks.  Right now, I want this thing OUT!!! It's not what I expected at all.  I do not find the pulsations to be comforting-feels like more neuropathy to me.  I will discuss with my doctor but want your opinion also.

Be very careful before going for a Pain Pump.  I have  had one for 8 long months and it was the worst decision of my entire life. (I am 77). None of the meds worked including the mich vaunted Prialt and they all made me deathly ill; despite the conventional wisdom that the drugs are only given in such small doses as to not cause side effects.

It might work for you but do be very careful

I am going to have mine removed soon but my Dr isn't happy about this' he wants me to keep in "just in case" he should have to live with it.

Good luck.
