my husband had surgery & was on the dilaudid pump for 3 1/2 days & when they took him off of it he became very hateful to everyone and said we said things that we didn't is that normal?
He was suffering from withdrawl symptoms, mainly irritability. Dilaudid withdrawal symptoms can be severe and include: anxiety, insomnia, profuse sweating, muscle spasms, chills, shivering, restlessness, yawning, disturbed sleep, irritability, anxiety, weakness, twitching and spasms of muscles, restless legs, nausea, anorexia, vomiting, intestinal spasm, diarrhea, repetitive sneezing, hot and cold flashes, severe back, leg and abdominals pains and cramps. Frequently, an increase in body temperature, blood pressure, respiratory and heart rate may be present.
It is perfectly normal.
