Q: What is causing my right arm pain and shortness of breath?

I have a tingleing sensation in both arms at night causing loss of sleep. Also, my upper right arm aches constantly, sometimes worse than others. I have a dull headache constantly and have trouble breathing. I am 56 years old and being treated for degenerative disc disease and arthiritis in my lower back. What is causing my arm pain, and could it be related to my other condition?

A low back problem shouldn't cause the symptoms you describe, but if the degenerative disc disease has affected the upper parts of your spine, it could possibly be related.  However, the arm pain and shortness of breath concern me.  You don't say how long you've been experiencing it, but I'd strongly suggest you see your doctor as soon as possible to at least rule out any possible heart-related problems.  Good luck to you!

thank you for answering my question. I have been having symptons for about 3 months. I am concerned about the possibility of a heart condition. I am definitely going to check that out. Thanks again!
