Except for over the counter drugs like Ibuprofen and Tylenol that can help with pain you need to get a prescription to obtain these drugs. There are various reasons for this; many of them can have strong side effects because of this their use is be regulated by a doctor. Some have narcotics in  them and can cause addiction. In any case you'll have to see a doctor to get them.  That, of course, can be expensive.

If you have low income you might check out to see if you qualify for medical assistance from the government. Many counties and states do provide financial  aid for medical treatment for people with low incomes.
