A large number of medications are used to treat the inflammation that is associated with Crohn’s disease. They include corticosteroids such as prednisone or Entocor, topical aminosalicylates such as Asacol and Pentas and antibiotics and immunomodulatory drugs such as Remicade and Humira.  If you are pain free after the surgery (are having no inflammation) your doctor may not be choosing to treat you with these drugs, some of which can have side effects.
