Is it possible to find out a drug is made of ; the ingredients ??
I will try to keep this short and unconfusing.I take oxycodone W/APAP 7.5/500 Tablets
Some times I am given Endocets.
The oxycodone has something in it that endocet doesn't; Why do I say that? heres why.
oxycodone gives a bit of energy with it and endocet doesn't. I have Cancer and have had it for 10 years. So that is why I take it. Breast cancer that went to the bone.
So is it possible to find out what the ingredients are.
Oxycodone W/APAP is the generic version of Endocet. The active ingredients in both are oxycodone and acetaminophen. As far as I know, the only difference might be in the binders used to manufacture the tablets. Although theoretically the binders shouldn't make a difference, I know of people who have to get brand name medications because generics don't work as well for them.
Check with your pharmacist to see if he/she can give you any more detailed information. If one works better than the other for you, your doctor should be able to write your prescriptions so that substitutions are not allowed and you will always get your preferred version.

Hi Kahite,
Yes, you can very easily find out the ingredients of all drugs.
Your local pharmacist (and all doctors) get a regular book (here in South Africa it is called "MIMS") that contains all details about every registered drug i.e. its ingredients, what it is used for, the dosage etc.
So either phone your pharmacist or doctor and tell them your problem and they can let you know what is not included in the Endocets.
Hope this helps!!!!
