Q: Do some Pain Management clinics NOT prescribe medicine???

I am 28 and have suffered from chronic pain for nearly 10 years due to a terrible car accident that broke both femurs and my back. I am switching to a new Pain Managment Clinic on Dec. 14th and when I went to read about it, it says nothing about prescribing medication. I get nerve root blocks and cortisone injections all the time--and they do help, temporarily..but even when they are helping not all my pain has subsided. I am very worried! Do some Pain Management Clinics NOT prescribe medicine? I have a 3 year old and am an accountant and as it is WITH medicine there are some days I'm on my office floor stretching bc my back hurts so bad. Someone, please tell me what to expect. Should I try to find another PM person to go to? here is a link to the one I'm supposed to go to on Dec. 14 http://www.jpmc.org/category.php?cat=1052

Unfortunately there are lots of pain management clinics that don't prescribe narcotic pain meds. They try all the other ways to try and ease your pain such as nerve blocks, therapy etc. Best of luck to you.
