Although a number of states have passed laws removing criminal penalties for medical marijuana patients, on the federal level, marijuana in any form is still illegal.  In 2005 the Supreme Court ruled in Raich v. Gonzales that the federal government can prosecute medical marijuana patients, even in states with compassionate use laws.    Every state has their own laws regarding medical marijuana so you would have to check the specific laws in the states in question to see if they have reciprocity regarding medical marijuana licenses on the state level.  But regardless of state laws, it's still a federal crime.   For more details on the status of medical marijuana laws go to the Drug Policy Alliance site.    Karen
