Recently I have been getting sharp pains in the right side of my upper back (near my shoulder blade area). I'm only 20 years old. Sometimes it hurts when I move a certain way, but some days it will hurt when I'm just simply taking a breath. I have no idea what it could be, but it's really starting to worry me. I just want to know whether or not it's serious enough to spend a fortune going to the doctor, you know? I'm really looking forward to hearing some answers soon. Thanks!
Hi there, Melissa --
I'm sorry it's taken so long for someone to find your question and answer it! Did you ever find out what was causing this pain? It sounds like muscle strain, or it could have something to do with your thoracic spine, such as a disc problem or a nerve impingement. If you found out what the problem was, perhaps you could post what it was here? The answer might be useful to some of our other community members.
