For starters, be honest with your doctor and tell him how you have tried it and it seems to help you. He cannot do worse than say no. If you need a second opinion, then that is your perogative to do so. I see a pain management doctor and that is what he prescribes for me. It is highly addictive so you may have a problem with getting your doctor to prescribe it. I have to have urinalysis to make sure that my meds are in order, due to the high risk of dependency and abuse in others. There are other alternatives to this as well, and you need to talk to your doctor about them. Doctors are there for you and you need to ask questions and expect honest answers from them. You are paying them, and they are obligated to keep your information confidential. I wouldn't advise taking other people's prescriptions. Too many problems can occur, especially when drug interactions can occur and harm you physically. I hope this helps. I find honesty is best when dealing with your doctor. I wish you success!
