A month ago the doctor put me on meds to help me sleep. Since then my face has been broken out. Can medication cause acne in a person who usually has clear skin?

You don't say what meds you are taking, so I can't look them up for you. However, any medication can have side effects – some are common and others are rare. Meds can also cause allergic reactions in some people. The best thing you can do is call your pharmacist and ask. Be sure to tell the pharmacist all of the medications you are taking, including over-the-counter meds, ointments, creams and supplements. Sometimes it's not one medicine that causes the problem but the combination of one or more together. Most pharmacists are more than happy to answer your questions.
