Morgan,

Sorry you're having troubles. I don't know anything about cymbalta, but I found information on this page -- http://www.healthcentral.com/anxiety/find-drug-25164-25.html.

Hope you feel better soon,

Jon

Its ‘funny' (ha ha) that you're experiencing jitteriness with cymbalta given it has ‘anti-anxiety' effects (and pain reduction) but according to Drugs.com anxiety is, in fact, a common side effect of this drug. (Go figure). In fact Drugs.com states anxiety is a symptom that you should call your physician and tell him that you're experiencing.

Drugs often have a break-in period that produces symptom flares as your body adjusts to them. Perhaps this is what is happening to you. In any case contact your doctor and tell him/her what you're experiencing.

Good luck with the drug - I hope it works for you.

Hi Morgan,

I had similar experiences with Cymbalta.  The jitteriness while I was awake subsided after awhile.  I had trouble with restlessness while I slept.  I also talked in my sleep a lot.  Most nights I wasn't aware of this, but it drove my husband crazy.  He had so much trouble sleeping.  Then I apparently started vocalizing and moving around as though I was having a sex dream- this according to my husband.  It caused a lot of problems in our marriage and that's actually why I went off the Cymbalta- because he couldn't handle the sleep issues.

The Cymbalta did help with my pain- for 8 months I was pain free for the first time since I was a teenager.  That was like a miracle to me!  My energy level was higher- which is really amazing in the wintertime!  I did have many side effects- the sleep ones I already mentioned and dry mouth, high blood pressure, dizziness, fatigue in the mornings, etc.  But up until my marriage was threatened, it was all worth it to me to be pain free.  Now I've been off of it for about a month and the pain is back worse than ever- it's hard to function on a daily basis and that is very discouraging.  I'm not sure where to go from here...

But- that's my two cents on Cymbalta- I hope that helps!  Good luck!

I started taking cymbalta 3 years ago.   Immediately I started having side effects.  My doctor told me to keep taking it.   Problems only got worse until I ended up in the emergency room and they told me to quit taking cymbalta.

Hi Morgan,

I have been on Cymbalta for the past 6 months and the only side effect that I have had was as a Precvious Person mentioned that I had a hard time going to sleep at night, and I would talk in my sleep alot. My Husband had to wake me up several times because I was yelling. I have had some bizarre dreams while on Cymbalta also, so I asked to be taken off of it and no more yelling while I am sleeping and no more bizarrre dreams.

I have a Friend who is also on Cymbalta 2xs a day, and she is doing fine with it. She says she feels better with her pain levels and her sleeping isn't effected by it, so I guess we are all different and have different rections to drugs.

All the best to you :)

Stay Positive!!!!

Dear Morgan,

If  you are having problems with CYMBALTA DO NOT FOOL AROUND WITH  IT,,, i was diagnosed with F.M. this past September, I was falling asleep every where,(except for my bed),, I was driving on the wrong side of the road, i Dont remember what i said to whom, there was some hallucinations(sp)mostly around dinner time, falling asleep at work, fell asleep in a walmart parking ot for three hours, and did not sleep for three weeks at night time, etc etc, but if you are going to continue taking that medication, keep a journal, such as a small pocket size calculater, and log in when, where, a epodes happens, if you see an increase of these "lil things" you need to talk to your doctor immedietly, you cannot just stop taking cymbalta, or pretty much any medication at that matter,,good luck, please keep me posted and.... oh,, i was taking 60 mgs. working my way on up to 90 (NEVER HAPPENED), What dose and what time of the day are you taking it????  good luck Morgan and if you have time, would love to hear how your doing,,, my your day be a low pain day. take care.
