Q: Is there a substitue for oxycodone that is non narcotic?

Is there any drug that works as well for pain as oxycodone, but is not narcotic?  I am in great pain in my lower back and the doctors are trying to diagnose it.  In the mean time, they do not wish me to take oxycodone.  They suggested Mobic, but it upsets my stomach.  What else is out there that might work as well as oxycodone 5/325?

have you ever tried Roxicodone, it is basically Percocets, but without the acetaminophen, much better pain relief, and not the stomach upset, plus I take the generics, and they are cheaper than anything else Ive had. Just thought Id throw that out there! Good luck!

I have asked my doctor also. We have not found anything that will stop pain like oxycodone. I have bad lower back pain and a knee replacement, a plate in each foot, a fused left hand and a replacement wrist in my left hand. I quit the oxycodone because I can't go to the bathroom. I can't get enough water in my system. I take  Propoxyphn -APAP - 100/650 MG 1 tablet every 4 hours as needed  ( Darvocet-N 100 Tablet )
