Good question! You should limit two things when taking Vicodin: you should avoid drinking alcohol and you should be careful about any other over the counter cold, cough, allergy or pain medications that have acetaminophen in them without checking with your pharmacist or doctor.   This is because Vicodin contains alot of acetaminophen. If you add more acetaminophen to your system by taking cold, cough or pain medications you run the rusk if suffering liver damage.   However Ibuprofen does not contain acetaminophen so you should be fine.   Because Vicodin can be constipating you should consider drinking more fluids and eating more fiber or a bulk enhancer such as psyllium seed to keep you regular.
