Q: can a hematoma after back surgery cause spinal stenosis

I don't know...you'd have to talk to your surgeon about this. Hematomas are collections of blood outside the blood vessels that can form into hard masses. This suggests, to me, a layman, that they could impinge on the spinal column but this is just a guess and your doctor would be the one to ask.

 

Whatever the answer I hope you recover quickly from that surgery...
