Q: Do you have some specific symptoms of femoral hernias

Lower right leg ache and continued up to hip and groin area, began in Oct 07. When I am laying on my right side the pain in the right side begins to ache and increases until it is unbearable and I can only explain the pain as being the same pain as if an ultrasound used during PT is in one place for too long.  When I am laying on my left side, the right leg does the same thing. Standing with pressure on the right leg and upstairs is painful. Laying on my left side, right leg extended, I can only lift approx 1 inch without extreme pain. If I bend my leg, I can lift it with little effort.  My doctor told me today it could be a type of hernia women get.  He is a RA doc and my primary. I also have Fibro so I have so much other pain in my trigger areas but it does not feel like that same pain.

The NIH's Medline Plus Medical Encyclopedia has some good information about femoral hernias, including the symptoms and treatment.  They also have a picture so you can see exactly where they occur.

I hope this gives you the info you're looking for.
