Hey girl.I am assuming this is Lortab? If it is the first number is the narcotic then the slash and that is the amound of tylenol or aspirin in it.If you can remember that all pain meds contain amounts of either Tylenol or nsaids.Your doctor would not want you to have too much tylenol or aspirin because of your health issues. Our liver has to last us a long time and I dont want to abuse mine.I have a liver panel done about every 4 months.Just to make sure I am not over doing it.It has only elevated once in 11 years I have been in chronic pain. And that was a fluke. So I need to tell you a little story and maybe it will clarify. My best friends husband had back surgery. He was put on Lortab/500.They make it up to 650 I think.Anyway it wasn't helping him one day and my friend said I will just get him some Tylenol because he is in a lot of pain.I told her if you do that his liver will become toxic. He is already taking 6 Lortabs a day.Which already contain 5oo of tylenol. So that adds up to 3,500.00 mgs of tylenol. She finally got it but it took her a while. She said how can that hurt him it is over the counter.I told her to read the lable.Call a pharmacist. But never take it upon yourself to be a self appointed doctor or nurse.I am so glad she listened to me as he was a recovered alcoholic and I am assuming his liver is not as healthy to start with.I hope that helps some.I am not saying I am a doctor or nurse. But a pharmacist is usually anxious to tell you about any rx.That is his field and practicaly no one ever asks them questions. They are important to people like us.....I hope that helps some.....Jo
