Q: I have some hydrocodone /APAP 5/500 that expired 08/06 - is it still effective?

It's hard to say.  From what I've read, medications may lose some of their potency past their expiration date, but there's no way to know for sure. 


For future reference, you can freeze tablets and dry capsules and they will keep their potency indefinitely.  Here's more information on long-term storage of medication:  Storing Medications Safely
