Those who have violated contracts, who have lied, cheated, and stolen in order to get medication do not have to be detox'ed by the pain clinic. The person can simply be told about the nearest addiction treatment clinic and cut loose to fend for themselves. It is actually illegal for doctors to treat addiction in those with known addiction without a special license or certification. Only certain clinics and doctors can detox an addict.
